The phone rang at 4:47 a.m. Nobody calls an emergency automation specialist at 4:47 to say hello.

The voice on the other end was a maintenance supervisor at a regional food plant. Their control panel was down. So glad we caught the terminal block problem before we left. We were one click away from declaring victory and driving off. The plant would have been down again by Monday. The best part of that morning was watching the control panel power up and the line start rolling. After the stress, the chaos, and the shouting, green lights on the I/O modules are a beautiful thing.

Bottom line: A failed Allen-Bradley PLC power supply is never just a failed power supply. It's a test of your system, your process, and your thinking. Pass it once, and you'll never go back to good-enough.
